EH&S Training for Geology and Planetary Sciences Department Researchers

Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) provides training to University faculty, staff, and students. This training will review standards for the Global Harmonization System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. Chemical handling methods and chemical disposal procedures will also be discussed. A review of emergency and chemical incident response will occur during the training session that includes student participation during a table top incident exercise. Additionally, EH&S will discuss Field Safety issues for personnel conducting field work through their University sponsored research. The EH&S training will be accomplished through an interactive PowerPoint presentation and open discussion with class participants.
