Environmental and Isotope Geochemistry

Environmental and Isotope Geochemistry researcher

Department researchers apply a wide range of geochemical tools to identify, track, and quantify geological and environmental processes. These include stable isotope (e.g., H, C, N, O, S) tracking of water and air pollutants; geochemical investigations of stream quality and acid mine drainage; stable metal isotopes (e.g., B, Fe, Cd) as environmental tracers; and applications of radiogenic isotopes (e.g., Sr, Nd, Pb) as geochronological tools and tracers for geological and environmental processes.
