We offer three undergraduate degrees: a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in both Geology and Environmental Geology, and a Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) in Environmental Studies; as well as an undergraduate certificate in GIS. Follow the three links below to learn more about these undergraduate programs.
Environmental Studies (Bachelor of Arts)
The Environmental Studies degree (B.A.) equips students with an understanding of Earth systems and the impact of humans on the biosphere, atmosphere, and hydrosphere. Courses in the natural and social sciences, humanities, and schools of law, business, and public health provide a comprehensive, interdisciplinary background in environmental issues and public policy.

Geology and Environmental Geology (Bachelor of Science degrees)
Our Geology and Environmental Geology programs combine basic observations of the real world with basic scientific principles to understand the workings of the Earth both today and over the past 4.55 billion years. A geoscience major tends to love science, nature, and variety. A love of science is important because in addition to geology, we require physics, chemistry, calculus, and, for Environmental Geology, biology. A love of nature is helpful because it motivates a profound curiosity about how the Earth works, and it makes the field trips highly enjoyable!

Certificate in Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a set of powerful software tools that allows the complete integration of a wide variety of maps, air photos, satellite images, and any other information referenced by geographic location. The computational manipulation of geographic data is increasingly important to many areas of science, government, and industry. Students who develop experience with computers, particularly with GIS and digital image processing, are at a distinct advantage when looking for jobs in numerous fields, including geology, environmental science, city and regional planning, and civil engineering. Our GIS program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed for immediate success in GIS-related jobs.
