Undergraduate Allie Ackerman accompanied Geology and Planetary Science faculty members Rosemary Capo and Brian Stewart, along with graduate student Tonya Brubaker, in a field excursion ranging from Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Phoenix, Ariz., during March 2008. The group was investigating the deposition of eolian material (dust) in desert environments and its potential effects on vegetation. Side trips included excursions to Petrified Forest National Park and the Grand Canyon.
