Meet Your Advisors

Your Advising Team

We have two sets of advisors in the Department of Geology and Environmental Science:

How to Contact Us

The best way to make an appointment with your advisor is to use the Navigate app.  Or feel free to talk to your capstone advisors before or after class! If you haven't declared yet or otherwise don't see our names in the Navigate app, feel free to email us (emails listed below):

Academic Advisors

Your academic advisors will lift your advising holds, make sure you have a solid plan to graduate, and help you navigate Pitt’s bureaucracy.  In general, if any given problem involves PeopleSoft or Highpoint CX, Corbin and Virginia can help!

For general inquiries and questions related to classes, degree progress, etc:

Corbin Curtis:  cac535@pitt.edu
Virginia Robson:  robson@pitt.edu

Capstone Advisors

Your capstone advisors will advise you on internships, undergraduate research, graduate school, and careers.  Because they are experts in geology, environmental science, and environmental studies, they are also happy to discuss which classes might be more or less relevant to your interests.

For questions regarding specific content-based class choices, internships, field programs, graduate school, careers, etc.:

Environmental Studies -- Mr. Mark Collins:  mjc@pitt.edu
Environmental Science -- Dr. Anusha Balangoda (anusha.balangoda@pitt.edu) or Dr. Abigail Carroll (arc234@pitt.edu)
Geology -- Dr. Charles E. Jones:  cejones@pitt.edu
