This specialized course provides students with a basic introduction to isotope ratio mass spectrometry and sample preparation techniques for light stable isotopes. Scheduled course meetings consist of brief lectures addressing the fundamental operation of gas source mass spectrometers (vacuum and ion source systematics, cryogenics, etc.) and hands-on, technical training in the use of isotope ratio mass spectrometers and associated peripheral instruments.Offered upon student demand.
