Congratulations to Hailey Sinon, who will be defending this term, for her recent appointment as National Ocean Sciences Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Facility Postdoctoral Scholar at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI OSAMS).
For Hailey’s two-part research project she will 1) use the age and thermochemical stability of organic carbon from Ramped Pyrolysis-Oxidation samples across Arctic Alaska to assess the preservation and loss of labile, ancient organic carbon along its transport from permafrost soils to the ocean, and 2) produce a web interface for WHOI NOSAMS users to process their RPO results, eliminating the need for users to navigate Python code and packages and greatly increasing the accessibility of the current processing method.
This is a tremendous and well‑deserved achievement, and a testament to her hard work and scholarly excellence. We're excited to see where this next chapter takes her.
