Last week, 22 of our incredible faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students are presenting at the 2024 American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting—the world’s largest gathering of Earth and space scientists! The theme of this year’s conference, “What’s Next for Science,” highlights the relentless journey of discovery and innovation that drives our understanding of the planet and beyond.
Here’s why the AGU Fall Meeting is such a major event:
- Global Participation: Over 25,000 attendees from more than 100 countries come together, including scientists, educators, policymakers, and communicators.
- Cutting-Edge Research: Presenters share groundbreaking findings on topics ranging from climate change to space exploration.
- Collaboration: A hub for networking and professional development, fostering new ideas and partnerships.
- Commitment to Solutions: The conference emphasizes addressing climate change and advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in science.
We are so proud to see the University of Pittsburgh represented on this global stage! To all our presenters: thank you for showcasing the impactful work happening here at the Dietrich School.
