As part of the Lightning Talks and shared his findings on his research: the Identification of Martian Scoria Cones in Valles Marineris using Deep Learning. He explained how using ArcGIS Pro's deep learning geoprocessing tools, the created a deep learning model capable of detecting a specific type of explosive volcano on Mars. This model was tested on Valles Marineris, and 20 new scoria cones were found, and confirmed using morphometric validation methods.

He has strong interests in Physical Geology and Planetary Science and applying GIS to both areas. He undertook a research project with Dr. Ian Flynn and Dr. Daniel Williams where they created a Deep Learning model using ArcGIS Pro to detect volcanic features on Mars. He is graduating in August 2025 upon completion of his field camp.
