Ben Schuler, an undergraduate Senior in Geology, was awarded a Dietrich School Curiosity Grant for $500 to support his work entitled "Identifying volumetric changes and thermal anomaly trends at active volcanoes using ASTER orbital data". Ben has been working on this project with his advisor, Dr. Daniel Williams, for the past year, and has been developing GIS-based workflows to automate the processing of ASTER sensor data.
