MAY 2025 - GES Students are Student Sustainability Champions!

Multiple GES students were recognized at the annual PittSustainability Awards as Student Sustainability Champions!

These graduating students made significant contributions to sustainability both on- and off-campus during their time at Pitt. We look forward to seeing what they accomplish as alumni!

Congratulations to:

FEB 2025 - GES Instructor Corey Flynn Recognized by Student-Athletes

Congratulations to our very own Corey Flynn (Sustainable Food Systems) on her recent recognition from a member of the Pitt Gymnastics Team, Jaime Pratt, who identified Flynn as a professor, advisor, or administrator who has had a positive impact on her during her tenure at Pitt. It would not be possible for our student-athletes to succeed in their sport without support, and they showed their appreciation by inviting Flynn to attend the eighth annual Most Valuable Professor gymnastics meet against the University of North Carolina in February.

NOV 2024 - GES Sustainable Food Systems Class Donate 57lbs. of Produce!

Students working with food pantry donations

The Sustainable Food Systems class, taught by Corey Flyyn, spends most weeks at an urban farm learning and working with community leaders. This week we had the privilege of helping Ebony Lunsford-Evans, better known as Farm Girl Eb, get her urban farm in the West End, 1 Sound Farm, ready for the winter.
